Crystal Saga Nova Equipment Guide: Enhancement, Gems & Best Gear
Equipment is your biggest source of combat power in Crystal Saga Nova. This guide covers when to enhance, what gems to socket, and the best gear sets for each class and content type.
Gear Rarity & Quality
Equipment comes in five rarities, indicated by color:
- White (Common) — Vendor trash. Sell immediately.
- Green (Uncommon) — Early game only. Replace as soon as possible.
- Blue (Rare) — Decent for mid-game (Level 30-50). Worth light enhancement.
- Purple (Epic) — Strong. Main gear for Level 50-70 content.
- Orange (Legendary) — Best in slot. Endgame sets with powerful set bonuses.
Enhancement Guide
How Enhancement Works
Enhancement increases gear base stats by a flat percentage per level (+1 through +15). Each enhancement level requires Enhancement Stones + Gold.
- +1 to +5: 100% success rate. Always safe.
- +6 to +9: Decreasing success rate (90% → 60%). Failure = stays at current level.
- +10 to +12: Low success rate (50% → 30%). Failure can drop -1 level.
- +13 to +15: Very low success rate (20% → 10%). Use Protection Scrolls.
Enhancement Strategy by Level
| Player Level | Gear to Enhance | Max Enhancement | Reasoning |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1-30 | None | +0 | Quest gear replaces everything. Save materials. |
| 30-50 | Blue weapon only | +5 | Weapon gives biggest DPS boost. Armor gets replaced. |
| 50-65 | Purple full set | +7 to +9 | This gear lasts a while. Worth investing. |
| 65+ | Orange set pieces | +12 to +15 | Endgame gear. Go all in. |
Gem System
Gem Basics
Gems socket into gear slots to add flat stats. Each gear piece has 1-3 gem slots depending on rarity.
- ATK Gems (Red): Flat attack power. Best for DPS classes.
- DEF Gems (Blue): Flat defense. Best for Knight/Priest.
- HP Gems (Green): Flat hit points. Universal usefulness.
- CRIT Gems (Yellow): Critical rate %. Best for Rogue/Ranger.
- SPD Gems (White): Attack speed. Niche — only for specific builds.
Gem Levels
Gems come in Levels 1-10. Combine 3 same-level gems to create one gem of the next level. Never sell gems — always combine up.
- Level 1-3: Common from daily activities
- Level 4-6: Mid-game goal. Significant stat boost.
- Level 7-9: Endgame. Requires weeks of farming or events.
- Level 10: Whale territory. Don't stress about this as F2P.
Which Gems for Each Class?
| Class | Priority 1 | Priority 2 | Priority 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mage | ATK (Red) | HP (Green) | CRIT (Yellow) |
| Knight | DEF (Blue) | HP (Green) | ATK (Red) |
| Rogue | CRIT (Yellow) | ATK (Red) | HP (Green) |
| Ranger | ATK (Red) | CRIT (Yellow) | HP (Green) |
| Priest | HP (Green) | DEF (Blue) | ATK (Red) |
Set Bonuses
Purple and Orange gear comes in sets. Wearing multiple pieces from the same set activates powerful bonuses:
- 2-piece: Minor stat boost (usually % based)
- 4-piece: Major stat boost or special effect
- 6-piece (full set): Unique passive ability (often game-changing)
Always prioritize completing a set over equipping random higher-rarity pieces. A full Purple set with 6-piece bonus usually beats 2-3 scattered Orange pieces.

Common Equipment Mistakes
- Enhancing White/Green gear — Total waste. These get replaced within hours.
- Breaking a set bonus for a higher rarity piece — 4pc/6pc bonuses outweigh raw stats.
- Selling gems for gold — Always combine gems upward. Gold is easy to farm.
- Using Protection Scrolls before +10 — They're rare. Save for +10 and above only.
- Ignoring enhancement transfer — When upgrading gear, always transfer your old enhancement level.
